Zarim In the 1950's, following the experience of WW2, Israel was one of the countries which recognised the need for a declaration on the human rights of refugees and was one of the first of 26 countries to sign the Convention in 1951. Fast forward some 50+ years and Israel itself does not adhere to it. The Israeli government does not fulfil its obligation to check who is a genuine refugee and who is an economic immigrant. If they did, they would have to recognise the refugees' rights and implement them.
It is beyond comprehension that people who have suffered as much persecution as the Jewish people have throughout their history, show so little compassion for others.

The work comprises quotes from the Convention & Protocol on the Status of Refugees on the front and behind there are clippings from newspapers reporting how Israel systematically fails to follow its obligation.
