What you see from there, you don't see here Operation Cast Lead. In December 2008 Israel invaded the Gaza strip after constant, relentless rocket attacks from Gaza into Israel. As I was abroad when the operation started, I was amazed upon return to Israel at how the Israeli media was portraying the war. They did not show incidents reported abroad such as the controversial killing of civilians, not allowing aid through, defacing Palestinian properties or using phosphorus bombs. It took weeks and even years for pieces of information on what really happened in Gaza to come out. War is ugly and the attempt by the Israeli media to blur this and glorify the Israeli army as a "moral army" is alarming. There are generations of Israeli soldiers traumatized by war. By not reporting the truth and the whole truth in real time, the Israeli media contributes dangerously to an endless way of war.
